Feeding Clivias
To get the most out of your Clivias, they need to be fed regularly. If a Clivia is well fed the cell walls become thicker, and this in turn limits attacks by insects, as they have a tough time piercing the cell walls. Regular feeding promotes plant growth, flower count and healthy roots.
We feed our plants mainly on Worm Tea, and have excellent results so far. We produce our own tea, using mainly kitchen waste, such as greens, tea bags, eggs shells, egg cartons. We feed the worm tea every third watering, and it is either used as a foliar feed or root feed.
Our plants receive the minimal amount of water during Winter, but only when the weather is warm. As Spring starts we strat feeding the plants regularly, and continue feeding until mid Autumn.

It may be doubted whether there are many other animals which have played so important a part in the history of the world, as have these lowly organized creatures.
